PLANET FUNK [Live]

Non è il solito gruppo dance.
Anzi, per dirla tutta il progetto Planet Funk ha ben pochi precedenti in Italia. Più che un gruppo da disco-music, è un collettivo di musicisti, DJ, cantanti e strumentisti che pensano in grande. La formazione base conta 4 elementi, ma durante le loro esibizioni non è infrequente vedere sul palco 10 e più artisti, anche di estrazione musicale differente.
A marzo 2002 esce l'LP d'esordio "Non Zero Sumness", che spazia tra ambient, elettronica, funk, psichedelica, metal e soul. Ne fanno parte tre singoli di grande successo: "Chase The Sun", "Inside All The People" e "The Switch", anche questa firmata dall'incisiva voce di Dan Black. Gli altri vocalist che partecipano alle registrazioni sono Auli Kokko, Raiss e Sally Doherty.
Da qui in avanti, il singolo "Who Said" impazza per tutta l'estate in radio e TV.
Ad aprile 2005 arriva il secondo album: "The Illogical Consequence", ardita sintesi fra pop progressivo e psichedelico, dance ed electro-pop. Rispetto al primo disco tornano Dan Black e Sally Doherty. La voce principale è però una novità: si tratta del DJ inglese John Graham.
Nel 2009 il gruppo pubblica il disco "Planet Funk", una raccolta con tre inediti che segna anche il ritorno di Dan Black come featuring dei tre inediti. La release non è la solita lista di successi assemblata e preparata per i fan. Non è un prodotto da masticare come una bubble gum, né merce da vendere al mercato dei dischi.
Il quarto disco di Marco Baroni, Gigi Canu, Sergio Della Monica e Alex Neri è una sorta di punto di arrivo e di ripartenza. "Ci piace pensare a una raccolta di musica fatta durante un percorso, contiene tutto quello che è passato e i semi del nostro presente".
Nel 2011 esce il nuovo singolo "Another Sunrise ".
